For my blogging on this second day of November I just have the ordinary things to write about. Conversations that happen when you have not been together in over a year. I spent the morning catching up with my daughter and her family...grandsons etc..then we all got dressed and went shopping for a few items she was not able to get on the plane of just forgot. She was working right up to time to leave so it is easy to forget when you are rushed getting two dogs taken care of, a husband organized and making sure to not miss the bus to the airport that left at 3 in the morning...
It was fun to hear first hand about the 3 grandson's, one grand daughter in law and one great grand baby girl who is now 1 and a half years old. We ghave onky seen photos so will be fun to see her next summer if our trip plans coe together like we want them to.
While we shopped and having decided to wear a pair I have that are more comfortable and actually look nice with my dress I returned my shoes I bought the other day. Cassie, my daughter, got some jewelry she liked and looks great with her dress. Her husband found some shoes he liked and Bob and I came away with nothing...It was a successful shopping day for all.
We stopped at Sam's Club to pick up some ingredients we needed for the finger foods we decided on making and while there made a trip into the liquor store for some spirits. They were actually giving out samples of booze. I have never heard of that before but we treated ourselves to a nice healthy taste of two different whiskeys, one of which is yummy straight up so I bought a bottle for us. Then in the back of the store we had fresh brewed coffee (you know me and coffee) with a shot of Kahlua in it. Oh my goodness, that was to die for ...Bob was out packing the food in to the car so missed out on the tasting party but he is not a hard liquor person any way so no big deal. And besides he had to drive home...
Tonight we are headed over to my son's home for dinner of "dogs and burgers" so it will be a nice gentle ending to a nice but busy day.
Tomorrow is a day of preparation of our contribution to the food table at the wedding...That will be fun since we picked out so many fun appetizers to make. My daughter and I do not get to cook together very often.
