BACK TO NORMAL temporarily

My daughter Cassie and son in law left yesterday morning to spend the weekend with her sister Deb and will not be home until Monday afternoon . For a couple of days we are doing the everyday normal stuff. It feels good to do that but miss her already and looking forward to spending another couple of days with her before she leaves on Wednesday.

Thursday Cassie went swimming with the manatees.

She was nearly floating on cloud nine when she returned. The trip lasted almost 2 hours and they came into contact with several groups of manatees.

When she first got into the water with her snorkel for the first time ever snorkeling she panicked but as soon as they gave her the 'noodle' she calmed down and began her experience. They saw not only lots of the 'gentle giants', often referred to as mermaids in ancient rhymes, but there was a mother and her baby amongst the group. You are not allowed to reach out and touch or chase or ride or in any other way interact with them in a confrontational way but if they come to you on their own you can let them touch you.
She was able to be close enough to a female that she felt the skin. I think the baby and the touch was the highlight of the swim.

Bob and son in law went golfing while we were doing our adventure. After a time to unwind at home we went to dinner at Stumpknockers On The River for catfish.

That was the end of a very fun day for all of us.

Tomorrow, Sunday, they are headed down to Orlando to visit with Mickey.

The excitement just never ends. They will have so much to talk about when they get home and much to look forward to the next time they come out for a visit.
