THE DAY AFTER

Pickled Pelican

Everyone slept in on the day after the wedding so we were rested up for the long trek home via Cedar Key. Originally we planned to do some sightseeing and then stop at my cousin's on the way home from there but it got late by the time we arrived so we just had lunch and  browsed through a couple of shops before we headed home.

Lunch at the Pickled Pelican was good and we all shared a salad made with heart of palm, fresh fruit and a peanut butter ice cream dressing. It was fantastic. Who would have thought to do that combination.

The sun finally came out and stayed out for the whole time we were there so we were able to have an outdoor table overlooking the bay.

The museum we wanted to go through is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so we didn't get to do that but a good time was had by all. Especially the young ones who were still marveling at the fact they were dressed in summer clothes and eating outside in 85 degree weather in November. Back home in Washington state it is cold and blustery winter weather

By the time we started for home it was too late to stop at my cousins since we had to be home in time to pick Marshal up at the boarding or pay another night. Instead we opted to invite my cousin and family down for dinner on Monday. Cassie loves to cook and has been wanting to cook dinner one night. Since we were running late this worked out great. Everything happens for a reason.
