NIGHT BEFORE WEDDING

I am home from the wedding and will write about it later but tonight I want to talk about my two daughters, Deborah and Cassandra.

Cassie's first look at herself wearing one diamond earring
Years ago my husband gave me diamond earrings for our 20th wedding anniversary. My daughter Cassie has always loved them and she told me that she just always knew they were hers. I have always known this and over the years we have laughed at how much she loved them.

I had decided to let my grand daughter wear a necklace that belonged to her great grandmother. I also had decided to give my daughter the earrings and my other daughter Deb what ever she wanted of my jewelery.

When they saw the box of jewelry they were like a couple of little girls playing grown up. They tried on and giggled and had a great time and eventually I had them divide the jewelery between the two of them. Oh my goodness. You would have thought they won the Florida lottery. So they talked about who should get what and why and eventually my daughter cassandra had the diamonds and my daughter Deb had the Rubies and the other things were just gravy after that.

But, I had a pair of cameos earrings from Germany that Bob bought me in 1956. These were my favorite earrings and they decided to have the earrings made into two pendants so they could each have one to wear. I loved that idea.

By the end of the evening I was free of all the jewelery that I never get a chance to wear any more and which have spend the last 11 year locked away in a safety deposit box and I have two happy daughters.

They loved dividing my jewelry this way and I can enjoy them enjoying it and that their father gave it all to me over the years made it even more special.

    1. I so very much enjoyed the joy the two of them had selecting and deciding on how to divy up the treasures. It was a fun evening.
